AIIMS-Trained Physician & Certified Lactation Consultant in Kolkata
Breastfeeding is natural — but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy.
I’m Dr. Preeti Mohta, a medical doctor (MBBS, MD – AIIMS New Delhi) and certified lactation consultant committed to helping mothers breastfeed with confidence, comfort, and clarity.
With a strong foundation in clinical medicine and specialized training in lactation science, I offer a unique blend of medical expertise, practical guidance, and empathetic support for mothers and newborns.
How it Started
⭐ My Journey: Doctor, Mother, Lactation Specialist
My journey into lactation care began during my own experience as a new mother.
Despite being a physician, I realized how overwhelming breastfeeding can feel without structured support. I witnessed mothers struggling silently — with latch issues, pain, low supply, or conflicting advice.I wanted to change that.
With formal lactation certification, I now provide scientific, evidence-based, mother-friendly breastfeeding care to families across Kolkata and beyond.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
You should book a session if you experience nipple pain, latch difficulty, low milk supply, engorgement, oversupply, baby not gaining weight, or if breastfeeding feels stressful or confusing.
Many latch issues, positioning problems, and early challenges improve significantly in one consultation. Some cases (low supply, slow weight gain, relactation) need follow-up sessions.
No, but you may need extra support in positioning, pain management, and ensuring early skin-to-skin contact. With proper guidance, C-section mothers breastfeed just as successfully.
Bring your baby, any pump or bottle you are using, previous medical records (optional), and your feeding history. A hungry-but-not-starving baby is ideal for a live feeding assessment.
